CCO staff members Lindsay Reedy and Lisa Hershey reach out to students at Juniata College, and associate staff member and Standing Stone Coffee Company owner, Greg Anderson, disciples a small group of students and encourages Lindsay and Lisa in ministry.
Lindsay, Lisa and Greg are eager to spend time with students in small group and one-on-one settings. They are addressing issues like how we use our gifts and talents to build God’s Kingdom, identity issues, and what it means for students to be faithful Christians in their academic pursuits.
Lindsay has designed an intentional living community with three students, seeking to serve the neighborhood, learn about living the Gospel daily with roommates, and providing a safe place for students to feel at home, cook meals, have discussion about life, and love deeply. In addition to community life, Lindsay serves as a resource to the club CMB (Christian Ministry Board) by leading devotionals, teaching students how to lead small group Bible studies, join in on service trips, and meet with leaders one-on-one.
Lisa is establishing an outdoor leadership team at Juniata through the club Laughing Bush. Her love for experiential education show in her love for the outdoors, working with groups of students, and love for God. Lisa also serves as a resource for CMB and a mentor for students leading small groups or asking tough questions about faith and life.
Greg serves as a tremendous encouragement to the ministry at Juniata by providing great opportunities for ministry at Standing Stone Coffee Company and working alongside Lindsay and Lisa. He also disciples a small group of male students each week at the shop.
Besides spending time on campus with students, Lindsay and Lisa serve Standing Stone Coffee Company as managing baristas. The coffee shop is a great place for students and members of the greater Huntingdon community to gather. Greg, Lindsay and Lisa are committed to building Christian community at Juniata College and beyond, and they look forward to continuing expand the ministry by reaching out and serving campus with the love of Christ.
